No one wants to have to carry their wallet when they’re going to a concert or festival. That’s why London is trying out a new payment technology at a festival this July. All attendees will have to carry is an NFC-enabled smart card, or they can simply wear a wristband.
According to the Wall Street Journal, all vendors at the festival will be equipped with NFC-enabled readers, allowing attendees to simply tap and go with their payments. Payments will be limited to up to 20 English pounds, but the limitation may be worth it to those who don’t want to carry their money.
The wristbands can carry a lot of cash. Up to 250 pounds can be loaded, and then deactivated at the end of the show. All funds can be refunded to a credit or debit card.
As this new technology will be tested at the Wireless festival, the wristbands will undoubtedly get a lot of use and attention. According to T3, this festival is the largest in London. Although this festival is merely an experiment, this technology could be the future for payments at festivals and concerts for years to come.

For a second time, NICE has been announced as the worldwide leader in contact center Workforce Optimization (WFO) by DMG Consulting LLC. NICE particularly stands out due to their current percentage of the market share. Not only that, but NICE has the right formula for business that keeps them successful in the call recording business.

It may seem surprising, but churches are often a target for vandalism. Recently, one vandal was caught in Santa Cruz, vandalizing the outside of the Holy Cross Church. With graffiti, the suspect caused some unrepairable damage. However, by upgrading to a new surveillance solution, churches can be better prepared for when incidents occur.
According to KSBW, the suspect had broken windows with rocks, drip painted the perimeter and spray painted the fountain located outside of the building. Not only that, but there were also several anti-church slogans and symbols that were painted. The building was badly damaged, even leaving some items beyond repair.
Currently, the Santa Cruz Police Department is investigating this incident as a hate crime. Police have one solid lead. However, they will be pulling evidence from grainy night images that may be hard to make out.
Churches all over the country are often victims of vandalism. That’s why having an updated surveillance solution is important for churches of all sizes. If your church has had the same system for years, it may be time to upgrade. For instance, if you installed an analog system, it may not have the capabilities that you’ll need to make out a vandal’s face.
We carry a variety of different IP cameras that can keep an extra eye on your church when you’re not there. There are many pros and cons for IP cameras, including that they can be installed literally anywhere within your building. However, one of the biggest advantages will undoubtedly be the image quality. Where an image may be dark with analog, with IP, you can clearly make out a person’s face and full image.
Let us help you find the right surveillance solution. Call Capture Technologies to find out more about your security options!
It wasn’t that long ago when millions of people had their credit cards breached. While Global Payments and a general lack of smart cards in the U.S. is partially to blame, there are a few things that you can do to help protect your credit card. By following these easy steps, you can feel more at ease with your cards before the smart cards start rolling out.
According to Fox10TV, if you feel like your credit card may have been breached, there are three major things that you can do to help protect yourself.
First, you can contact a major credit reporting agency. Experian, Equifax and Trans-Union all have the ability to put fraud alerts on your credit reports so no one else is able to touch your accounts. With this protection, no one will be able to take loans out under your name.
If you truly feel that your card has been breached, you should call the police. Theft is a serious crime, and it will be taken seriously. Not only that, but a police report will serve as proof that a breach occurred.
Lastly, you can also try single-use or virtual credit cards. Some banks have these available to be used for online purchases. For single-use credit cards, the bank simply creates a number that differs from your primary card. This will help to protect your finances in the long run, and keep hackers out of your bank accounts.
While breaches have occurred, banks are looking for new solutions to the problem. Hopefully, with the help of smart cards, we can say that security breaches are a thing of the past.
